DRIZIT ON BOARD SHIP

DRIZIT REPELS WATER AND IS UNAFFECTED BY WASHDOWN OR CONTACT WITH SEA WATER.

DRIZIT is a polypropylene based, general purpose range of products formulated to contain and absorb fuel, lubricating and process oils as well as hydrocarbons, oil based paints and most solvents.

On board ship DRIZIT functions as a primary component of the ship’s oil spill contingency plan. Identifiable sources of leakage or spillage can be permanently protected, large spills or leaks prevented from running overboard and small to medium spillages contained and absorbed entirely from the vessel’s own resources preventing environmental damage as well as ensuring safer working conditions for crew members.

In all forms DRIZIT absorbents are suitable for long term on board storage.

THE PRODUCTS

The DRIZIT range consists of eight products, all capable of absorbing up to twenty five times their weight in oil. Most widely used at sea are: -

CUSHIONS: Lightweight net bags filled with loose polypropylene fibre. Two sizes: 55cm into 45cm into 5cm containing 1kg of fibre and 50cm into 10cm into 7.5cm (MINI CUSHION) containing 0.5kg of fibre.

OIL SEALS: Loose fabric sleeves packed with polypropylene fibre. Three sizes: SEALS 125cm long into 7.5cm diameter (sized so that three joined together completely surround a standard 205 litre (45 gallon) drum), SEAL PUPS 50cm long into 7.5cm diameter, SEAL MINIS 25cm into 7.5cm diameter.

PADS: Lightweight, high strength to weight ratio, 3-4mm thick polypropylene sheets. 48cm into 48cm.

ROLLS: 4877cm long into 96.5cm wide and 4877 into48cm (MINI ROLLS) sheets of 3-4mm thick polypropylene.

BOOMS: 4m and 1.5m (MINI BOOM) long and 18cm diameter net bags filled with polypropylene.
